Principal's Message
Hi Westwood Families,
My name is Chris Kenroy, and I’m so proud to serve as the principal of Westwood Elementary School. It’s truly an honor to be part of such an amazing community filled with caring staff, incredible students, and supportive families.
This year marks my 21st year in education and my tenth year as principal here at Westwood. Before coming to Michigan, I spent eight years teaching fifth grade and three years as an assistant principal in San Antonio, Texas. When my family and I moved back home to Michigan, I knew I wanted to be part of a school that felt like a family, and I definitely found that here at Westwood.
My wife, Kristen, is a physical therapist, and we have two daughters who keep us busy and laughing. Addy is in 8th grade and loves soccer. She plays year-round and truly enjoys the teamwork and competition that come with the sport. Ella just started Kindergarten and loves playing, learning, and practicing to be a cheerleader. As a family, we love spending time on the lake in northern Michigan, taking little adventures around the state, and enjoying time together outdoors.
I’m so thankful to be part of a school where students are excited to learn, teachers care deeply about kids, and families work hand in hand with us. If you ever have questions or ideas, or if there’s any way I can help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Here’s to another great year at Westwood. Go Raiders!
Chris Kenroy
